| Day Trading
Day trading-- it seems to be one of the biggest topics of contraversy on this site. Many people strongly believe that day trading is stupid and there is no point to it. How ever others are on this site suying and selling the same stock five or six times in the same day. I want to look at the positives and negitives of both sides and see which mades more sence. The Market: I'm sure that most people would agree that if this were the real stock market then the majority of the day trading that goes on would not be a wise move however, this isn't the real stock market. In the real stock market stocks go up and down slowly and the prices are based on events that take place over periods of time such as months or years. This Protrade market is influenced by events that can take place in a matter of minutes.
Gold Shares in a Volatile Stock Market
"While here at Casey Research, we remain extremely bullish on gold, it is important, even critical, to keep in mind that bull markets make anyone on the right side of the trade think they are smarter than they actually are." by Doug Casey and David Galland It's no secret that based on my analysis of the U.S. economy, I'm a dedicated, even determined, gold bull just now. But as much as I like gold, I like the higher-quality gold shares - especially the Canadian-traded junior explorers - even more. For the simple reason that history and the brokerage statements of subscribers to our monthly International Speculator newsletter attest, when gold runs, the junior gold shares howl. Given my strongly held views, the inevitable pullbacks in gold and gold shares amount to nothing more than yet another buying opportunityÂ…which, I can assure you, I take full advantage of.

The Real market and PROTRADE, part 2
Having been here for a couple of months, I've made a few trades and earned over 10% of my initial portfolio stake. In the real market, 10% in 2 months is great. In Protrade, it's nothing. There's a correlation between the real stock market and Protrade that honestly does affect the experience of everyone in the market. This is the correlation between risk and reward. When you are in the market investing your retirement money, you are looking for a unique risk/reward combination that is established between you and your financial advisor. You generally find solid companies like Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble, which you hope will have decent returns but aren't likely to go bankrupt. You might (but don't have to) allocate a small portion of your portfolio for 'opportunities' such as the Hail Mary Oil Exploration and Drilling Company.
DFSA cracks down on fraudulent fund
Dubai: The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) said yesterday that it has obtained injunctions from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Court against the operators of the Euro-America Index, which it claims is a fraudulent investment scheme. Euro-America Index is an internet-based bogus investment scheme originating in Southeast Asia last year and its website (www.eaindex.com) claimed that it has three global trading centres including Chicago, Zurich and Dubai. "The DFSA was alerted about the operations of Euro-America Index two weeks ago and we immediately began an investigation into the case in association with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (SFBC). "Subsequently a case was filed against the operators of the website at the DIFC court," said Niall Coburn, DFSA Director of Enforcement.

New Twist On Foreign Lottery 'Smart Scams'
(CBS) CHICAGO Foreign lottery scams are at the top of the fraud charts with law enforcement authorities. They estimate that hundreds of millions of dollars a year are lost to fraud rings based in countries like Canada, Spain and Australia, to name a few. The CBS 2 Investigators look at the new twist to this old scam that accounts for its resurgence. As CBS 2 Investigator Pam Zekman reports, it's a smart scam that turned a smart man into a big loser. Like millions of Americans, 79-year-old Arent Jacobson was bombarded with announcements he'd won big money in foreign lotteries. "He believed it. And this is a man that is highly educated. Very intelligent, said Jacobsons daughter, Linda Walsh. The retired attorney wired a series of $2,500 payments to people in Canada and Costa Rica who told him a string of lies.

Doubts on stents help pump up heart surgery
"The rules of the game changed dramatically a few years ago," said Dr. Richard Shemin, the newly installed chief of cardiothoracic surgery at UCLA Medical Center, pointing out that cardiologists have been performing more heart procedures, and surgeons fewer. "Things may be changing again." On the advice of her doctor, Gail Miller, a 60-year-old art instructor in Sacramento who had been diagnosed with advanced heart disease, chose to have bypass surgery two days after Christmas last year. "At first, I was terrified, and my family was even more scared," said Miller, who was close to full recuperation. "But after I read about all the issues with stents lately, I am kind of happy I got a bypass." Stents, which come in varying sizes and designs, are inserted by a cardiologist — heart specialists who diagnose and treat conditions such as congenital defects and coronary artery disease but don't perform surgery.
